The Secretariat

The Secretary General:

The Secretary-General is Chief Administrative Officer of the WED – and is also a symbol of the Organization’s ideals and an advocate for the respect of the rule of law and its equal application to all.

Deputy Secretary-General

The Deputy Secretary-General’s role is to assist the Secretary-General in managing the operations of the WED, to act and represent the Secretary General if needs be and to support the Secretary General in ensuring coherence of actions and initiatives.

The Desks

At the WED, States can have their own representation ‘desk’ and they can chose to ‘sit’ at a joined desk while preserving their own desk.

While respecting individual states interests and strategies, the WED will only focus itself on achieving legal performance.

All states are equal at the WED, regardless of the size of their population, wealth, and economic or military power. Equality and mutual respect are two of the most important values of the WED.
