We are delighted to share an update on our ongoing efforts to engage with the Danish government regarding the WED. Despite the complexities of diplomatic schedules and priorities, we have made meaningful progress in our dialogue.

Our initial outreach to the office of the Foreign Affairs Minister has been met with a thoughtful response, indicating a thorough consideration of our proposal. While scheduling constraints have posed challenges in arranging a formal meeting, we are appreciative of the attention given to our submission amidst competing demands on their time and resources.

While our journey towards substantive discussions continues, we remain steadfast in our dedication to fostering fruitful dialogue and cooperation with Denmark. We are encouraged by the initial receptiveness and look forward to further opportunities to deepen our engagement in the future.

Strength of the WED

A positive effect of the WED will be that its actions will not affect the relationship between states. After all, states are not the ones who will act against the state that violates the international agreements; the WED will act on behalf of all members, while the member states will just act according to their commitments to the WED.

Another positive outcome of the WED will be that states will not be able to abuse their economic or military power to force others to act according to their will or to accept a breach by them. After all, by doing that, those states are not only breaching international agreements but also intending to make innocent civilians suffer only for their own agenda. Indeed, just as we as humans may not force our neighbours to live as we see fit, states may not force this on other states, either.
