The WED is pleased to announce that our dialogue with Malaysia is thriving. Today, a delegation from the World Embassy Desk was warmly received at the Malaysian Embassy in The Hague. This meeting provided an opportunity to delve deeper into the initiative of the World Embassy Desk and discuss the future of our relationship with Malaysia.

The meeting was fruitful, with many ideas exchanged and important global issues addressed. The Chargé d’Affaires expressed satisfaction with our conversation and assured us that he would inform the capital of the additional information gathered during this meeting.

We are delighted to engage with such a vibrant nation and look forward to the development of further exchanges as the World Embassy Desk continues to grow.

We are pleased to share a significant development in our diplomatic outreach to Malaysia. As part of our ongoing efforts to foster international cooperation and dialogue through the World Embassy Desk (WED), we recently sent a detailed letter outlining our initiative to both the Malaysian Embassy and the esteemed Minister of Foreign Affairs.

We are delighted to report that our communication was warmly received. The diplomatic staff extended their support by assisting in organizing a meeting with the Malaysian Ambassador in the Netherlands. This meeting represents a crucial step in building a robust partnership and exchanging ideas on key global issues.

We are grateful for the positive reception and the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with Malaysian representatives. This interaction underscores the importance of our initiative and highlights Malaysia’s commitment to fostering constructive international relations.

Strength of the WED

A positive effect of the WED will be that its actions will not affect the relationship between states. After all, states are not the ones who will act against the state that violates the international agreements; the WED will act on behalf of all members, while the member states will just act according to their commitments to the WED.

Another positive outcome of the WED will be that states will not be able to abuse their economic or military power to force others to act according to their will or to accept a breach by them. After all, by doing that, those states are not only breaching international agreements but also intending to make innocent civilians suffer only for their own agenda. Indeed, just as we as humans may not force our neighbours to live as we see fit, states may not force this on other states, either.
