Violation of the Airspace and Sovereignty of Qatar and Iraq
The World Embassy Desk (WED) expresses its concern and condemns the recent violation of the airspace and territorial sovereignty of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Iraq during Iranian missile strikes carried out in response to military actions by the United States.
While the right of nations to defend themselves is recognized under international law, such actions must not compromise the sovereignty of third-party states or place them at risk without their full and explicit consent.
The use of Qatari and Iraqi airspace in this context, regardless of prior notifications, represents a breach of established international norms governing the respect for sovereign borders and the conduct of hostilities.
The World Embassy Desk calls on all parties to act with restraint, uphold the principles of international law, and prioritize diplomatic engagement over unilateral military action. The protection of national sovereignty and the prevention of further regional destabilization must remain a shared priority.
We continue to monitor the situation closely and stand ready to support any diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and dialogue.
