Letter to All EU Member States Regarding Lack of Actions in Palestine

The World Embassy Desk (WED) issued a diplomatic letter to all Member States of the European Union, expressing deep concern over the continued and grave violations of international humanitarian law in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The letter highlights the legal obligations of states under international law to prevent war crimes, ensure respect for the Geneva Conventions, and refrain from supporting unlawful actions. WED notes that failing to condemn and act against such violations (while at the same time offering political or military support) raises serious questions of complicity and shared responsibility.

The correspondence also refers to a recent EU report dated 20 June 2025, which found evidence that Israel has deliberately used starvation as a method of warfare, including against children. Despite these findings, several EU states have yet to take meaningful action.

WED calls on all EU governments to take immediate and effective measures to uphold international law, and expresses its readiness to engage in dialogue with Member States to find a path forward that respects both national interests and the rule of law.
