WED Urges Pakistan and Afghanistan to Choose Dialogue Over Conflict
Recognizing the deep historical and cultural ties between the peoples of Pakistan and Afghanistan, the World Embassy Desk expresses serious concern over the recent armed confrontations along their shared border. The loss of innocent lives and the growing humanitarian impact underscore the urgent need for restraint and dialogue.
WED urges both parties to pursue peaceful and diplomatic avenues to resolve their differences, consistent with the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law. Neighboring states, more than any others, bear a special responsibility to prevent conflict and human suffering rather than contribute to it.
The resort to arms must be the very last measure—never the first. WED calls upon both governments to demonstrate wisdom and leadership by choosing cooperation over confrontation and restoring stability for the benefit of their nations and the wider region.
