Concern over escalating tensions between the Houthis in Yemen and Saudi Arabia

The World Embassy Desk (WED) is deeply concerned by the recent rise in tensions and reported hostilities involving the Houthis in Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Any escalation that risks further destabilising the region, endangers civilian lives, or threatens international civil aviation and maritime security is a matter of serious concern to the international community. WED reiterates that disputes between States and non-State actors must be addressed through dialogue, diplomacy, and full respect for international law.

WED calls upon all parties to exercise maximum restraint, refrain from actions that could further escalate the conflict, and prioritise the protection of civilians. We also encourage regional and international stakeholders to intensify diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting a peaceful and sustainable resolution.

WED remains committed to supporting dialogue, regional stability, and the peaceful settlement of disputes in accordance with the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.
